To start and to stop a modern CCGT installation cannot be done instantaneously. The gas turbine has a certain time to get up to speed and to switch from full speed no load to full load. It should be warmed through first. The rest of the power plant, mainly the HRSG, the waste heat steam boiler downstream of the gas turbine, the interconnecting steam pipework, the steam turbine and the complete cooling circuit have to be brought up to working temperature as well. 

This all has to be done within a certain time pressure to limit the starting costs and to supply as 
soon as possible to the grid. The demand to minimize the starting times is stronger in the continental theater due to the higher fuel costs. Remaining for all CCGT plants is the demand of being reliable and the need to be sure to be able to start the installation and to supply the electricity required 
to the grid...

Project: Slibverwerking Noord-Brabant (SNB) -  Moerdijk

Contractor: NEM Energy B.V.

Advanced Valve Solutions Delivery:

• HORA, Control Valves and Desuperheaters.
• Persta, Large bore valves  &  Pneumatic actuated valves.

Slibverwerking Noord-Brabant (SNB) will be in a year’s time self-sufficient in their need for energy. From that SNB is generating sufficient power, that they won’t need the energy grid any longer.

This will be realized by replacing 2 out of 4 low-pressure steam boilers present on site SNB. The Dutch power company, NEM is the appointed contractor of this project, and will supply the two high-pressure steam boilers.

With the help of these new, high-pressure boilers, the production of green-energy will be multiplied by the number 9. This can be seen as a large investment, but also a huge opportunity.

Project: Koppelleiding, AVR - Duiven

Contractor: Cofely West Nederlands

This project will ensure that in the near future, district heating (city: Arnhem) will be supplied over the existing structure. Heating, now provided by WKC Kleefsewaard will stop in short term and will be taken over by waste incinerator AVR Duiven.

Energy from waste is now even more efficient! To make this al happen a coupling line (koppelleiding) is required to be build and all necessary preparation needs to be done on site at AVR Duiven. AVS is awarded the contract for supplying all necessary O-C valves.

Facts coupling line (koppelleiding):

Maximum capacity: 30 Mw , this is enough for 4,000 housekeeping and 100 businesses.

Project: ARN - Weurt

Contractor: Cofely West Netherlands

Advanced Valve Solutions Delivery:

Within the process of burning waste materials, the heat generated is converted into electricity.

With the existence of district heating,  surplus heat from the incinerator ARN – Weurt can be used for heating 14,000 existing and new build houses and companies in the Waalfront and Waalsprong areas.

With the Zwick triple eccentric butterfly valve,  we are able to supply a metal seated, and bubble tight valve, for long lasting and high reliability for the complete installation.

Project: Nuon Heat Storage - Diemen

Contractor: Cofely West Netherlands

Nuon Limited,  is currently developing an extension of its existing facilities, at the Diemen location, in the Netherlands.The current facility in Diemen, consists of two Combined Heat and Power Plants (DM33 & DM34) and five auxiliary gas fired boilers. The proposed extension consists of a heat accumulation tank, connected to the existing district heating supply system. Advanced Valve Solutions is proud to be the awarded, as key supplier for discharge HORA control valves and  Zwick metal seated, triple eccentric stop check valves.

Project: De Nieuwe WarmteWeg (DNWW) - Rotterdam

Contractor: Visser & Smit Hanab Installatie BV

Advanced Valve Solutions Delivery:

• ZWICK,  TRI-CHECK,  Metal Seated, Stop-Check-Valves.

For this project, 26 kilometer long piping will be installed for transporting heated water. The Nieuwe WarmteWeg will transport waste heat originating from waste incineration plant AVR Rozenburg. In the coming years 50,000 houses and companies will use this sustainable heat. The AVR Rozenburg heated water will circulate in a closed system. To keep the system pressurized, 3 booster stations will be built. Oct. 2012, AVS has been awarded the order for the supply of 19 pcs. ZWICK Stop-Check-Valves for these three booster stations. Delivery of the valves took place in April 2013. AVS is pleased to support the Rotterdam climate initiative with their CO2 (reduction) emission program.
